"Maskne" is NOT a New Normal

Updated: Jun 2, 2020

In this time of pandemic, we exhaust all means to protect ourselves from this deadly coronavirus. Aside from social distancing, frequent hand washing and wearing face masks are part of the so-called “New Normal”. However, more and more people as starting to notice breakouts around the lower face, with wearing of face masks as the culprit. Frequent wearing of masks, whether medical or cloth masks, may irritate the skin. Friction plus sweat trapped underneath the mask can cause break down of the skin barrier. Some people develop skin rash while for others, acne formation happens.

We highly recommend the use of proper skin care products that would prevent oneself from developing breakouts. The products must address oiliness, comedones and pimples and at the same time improve the quality and texture of the skin. If the breakout seems to be out of hand, consult your doctor for other possible treatment options in order to bring back that flawless skin in this time if pandemic.
